Appeal to International support
In the aftermath of the cyclone „Enawo“ asserted as a category 4-cyclone on the SAFFIRE-SIMPSON scale, the Government declared officially on March 14th, 2017 a national situation of emergency. Celebration of the week of the Francophonie – March 2017
This year again, the Centre Francais de Berlin welcomed the visitors of the sunshine day of Francophonie on April 1st with the presence of about thirty embassies and the French-speaking delegation of Berlin.

"AFRICA MEETS BUSINESS" March 28, 2017 in Berlin
On 28 March 2017, an annual meeting was held in Berlin with German companies, Bundestag MPs, representatives of the German government and international organizations and Ambassadors representing African countries. This event represents a real opportunity to informally exchange, strengthen or initiate cooperation with a view to intensifying German-African economic relations.
This year's event was enhanced by the speech of Chancellor Angela Merkel and the presence of German Federal Minister for Cooperation and Development Mr Gerd Müller and State Secretary Mr Thomas Silberhorn in the BMZ. Read more...

Madagascar at the BETD 2017, Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue from 20 to 21st March:
On the initiative of the Federal Government, BETD 2017 is the international meeting event for nearly 500 participants from all over the world in the field of energy.
The Malagasy delegation led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons has attended this dialogue transition in the context of the global promotion of renewable energy and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Germany and Malagasy. Read more...
"Madagascar Promotion Tour": International Tourism Fair of Berlin ITB from 07 to 12 March and roadshow in Stuttgart; Munich and Stockholm the 14, 15 and 17 march 2017
In the framework of Madagascar's promotion of tourism, the new Branding "Madagascar treasure island", a Malagasy delegation led by the Minister of Tourism Mr Roland Ratsiraka went to Berlin to attend the ITB International Tourism Fair 2017 from 07 to 12 March, whose partner country is Botswana. The Embassy of Madagascar accompanied the delegation during the whole stay.
The ITB had a special focus on the „International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017“ coming from the United Nations declaration fort he year 2017.

Shortcut to Madagascar November 11th, 2016 – Eiszeit Kino Berlin
The convivial and warm evening event of the Malagasy short films at the Eiszeit Kino in Berlin highlighted the know-how of young Malagasy filmmakers in the realization of short films.
Nine screenings of about ten minutes, from animation, science fiction to parody have fascinated the audience. They reflect the real life in Madagascar.

In the framework of the initiative for renewable energy export by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, a presentation of the partner countries of this program including Madagascar, was held July 5, 2016 in Scandic hotel Berlin.
This event organized by GIZ and where the companies in renewable energy have been invited, is a real opportunity to showcase the potential that abounds Madagascar in this sector, key of sustainable development (solar energy in the south wind in the North, hydro for rivers).

About 50 embassies including Madagascar participated in this annual event initiated by the city of Berlin and member of the German Parliament. During 2 days, visitors could appreciate the healthy culinary worldwide at the heart of Berlin. Each country has its specific culinary . The Madagascar booth has sold not only Malagasy dishes prepared with care by the Diaspora, but also its famous spices.
56th anniversary of the Independence of Madagascar June 25, 2016
The celebration of the 56th anniversary of the Independence of Madagascar was jointly organized by the Embassy and the Malagasy community in Germany in the evening of June 25 in Berlin. The Honorary Consul of Düsseldorf, and the responsible of GIZ energy sector at Antananarivo graced the evening with their presence.
