June 21th 2016 - Courtesy visit to Mr. Heiko Müller, Mayor of Falkensee

Since the inauguration of the Chancellery in 2003, the Embassy and the Mayor of the City of Falkensee maintain favorable relationship and cooperation. The Mayor welcomes the presence of an Embassy in his constituency and the Embassy appreciates the unfailing support of the City. Therefore, the courtesy visit of the Chargé d'Affaires

to the mayor and his deputy was held in a friendly atmosphere, during which the Mayor outlined the history and development of the City.

Falkensee has doubled its population since 1990 (44.288 inhabitants), and recorded the highest citizens growth in the District of Havenland, Germany. What makes Falkensee different compared to other German cities is its population mainly composed by families with young children.

Within the city of Falkensee, decentralized cooperation, one of the main focus of the German Government, is reflected for example by the cooperation between the EPP Andriantomporay, Ambatomirahavavy and the primary school Erich Kästner, initiated by the Embassy and the diaspora in 2014.

During the school festival to be held on July 15th 2016, where the Mayor will attend, the presence of Madagascar’s booth, like last year, will rise awareness of parents to carry on the project.
