Celebration of the German Unity Day on October 03rd, 2017 in Mainz

At the center of the celebration of German reunification, the Federal President and the Chancellor, 1,200 guests, including Heads of diplomatic missions, were invited to attend this ceremony which took place this year in Mainz, the Capital of the Rhineland region -Palatinate.

In his speech, among other topics, the Federal President expressed his fear of a new form of invisible wall fence in Germany. "People in need should not be ignored by us, the Germans," he said.

The Chargé d'Affaires ai of the Embassy of Madagascar honored not only to the official programs, but also took the opportunity to visit the superbly attractive stands of the 16 Länder the day before around the Dome where the ecumenical services will take place on the Day of celebration. This is an encouraging sign of the open-mindedness of Germany and demonstrates its richness in diversity. Similarly, the security arrangements put in place, and in particular the dedicated commitment of all stakeholders, deserve special praise.
