Meeting day with the Norwegian stakeholders acting in Madagascar, Diaspora and embassy at Oslo on March 25th; 2017

For this mission to Oslo, the Embassy of Madagascar in Germany, represented by the Chargé d'Affaires ai and two Counselors, expresses its commitment to actions aimed at promoting friendly, economically, culturally and developing relations Between Norway and Madagascar.

Following a working meeting in May 2016 with limited members, this active involvement supports the mobilization of the Fikambanana Fifankatiavana Norvezy Madagasikara (VNM), which organized a meeting bringing together the diaspora, Norwegian activists and friends, Representative of the MAE, NORAD, the Honorary Consul General, economic and tourist operators, and the former Norwegian Ambassador to Madagascar from 2008 to 2011.

The program on Saturday the 25th March saw two presentations (Chargé d'Affaires ai of the Embassy and Representative of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry), and six other interventions, followed by a panel of discussion in order to highlight on the one hand the assets and potential of Madagascar and on the other hand to find ways and means to contribute to its development. A dinner was held at the PS Hotel, a solidarity hotel for the integration of former prisoners and excluded from the company.

The work to be done will be to redouble efforts to ensure the mobilization of all stakeholders with a view to re-establishing the bilateral relations of the past with a more direct impact on the population. The Malagasy Diaspora has also been sensitized to strengthen their engagement in the development process of the country.
