Reception hosted by the German Chancellor in honor of the Diplomatic Corps on June 11th, 2014 in Berlin

The Diplomatic Corps including the Chargé d'Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Madagascar was invited to this annual reception. During her speech, the Chancellor reiterated the importance of the year 2014 strengthening the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the 1st World War. She also advocated for dialogue, negotiation, peaceful coexistence in order to live in peace and trust.

The Federal President Mr. Joackim GAUCK maintained the tradition of a discovery travel with the Diplomatic Corps each year.

This year 2014, the assets of the Hesse state were highlighted namely the Center of Control

Travel of the Diplomatic Corps with the German Federal President in the State of Baden-Wurtemberg: July 1, 2013

High Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps in Berlin answered massively to the invitation of the German Federal President for travel information on July 1, 2013, in the State of Wurtemberg, region in southwestern of Germany.

The Chargé d'Affaires a.i of the Embassy represented Madagascar for this occasion.

Madagascar celebrated its 53th anniversary of Independence "June 26, 1960 - June 26, 2013,"

It was with joy and good mood that the Embassy of Madagascar in Berlin welcomed guests on June 29, 2013 at the Embassy for the commemoration of the 53th anniversary of Independence of Madagascar. Like the previous years, the event was held in two parts, first the day "Open House" until 06 p.m to promote the island, followed by the festivities with the Diaspora in Germany at the end of the evening.

Year 2013: Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the African Union

This year, the 50th anniversary of the African Union revealed a particular importance because of several events held in this honor and all embassies of the African Union including Madagascar participated on them during May and June 2013.

Mission in Norway from 12 to 13 April 2013

The visit of the Chargé d'Affaires a.i in Norway during the 10 years of the Norway Friendship Association Anniversary, composed by more than 500 members, on the 12th and 13rd of April 2013 was highlighted in terms of diplomatic, consular, cultural, social issues.

In fact, her meeting with the Head of Africa Section at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the availability of Norway in assisting Madagascar in the electoral process for a transparent election. It was also pointed out the wish to normalize and strengthen relations with Norway given the historical links between the two countries.

Thereafter, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i assisted by the Honorary Consul General discussed with the Malagasy Diaspora about consular and political issues in a friendly atmosphere.

The 13rd of April 2013, was devoted to the annual conference of the Association. Under the theme of "Education in Madagascar", the speakers of the round table composed by the responsible of Education at the Norwegian Ministry of Development and the Consultant for the Education through Norad suggested solutions to effectively improve Malagasy educational system. They stressed on the continuity of bilateral cooperation in education and environment in Madagascar with predefined criteria. The closing ceremony of the “Jubilé” highlighted the artistic and culinary specialties of the country through typical Malagasy meal accompanied by music from its famous "Valiha" played by the renowned artist "Rajery."

The Embassy represented by the Chargé d'Affaires a.i took part in receptions given by the German Federal President and the German Chancellor on the occasion of New Year.

In his allocution, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Archbishop Mr Jean-Claude Périsset highlighted the new style of German Federal President in its relations with the Diplomatic Corps and the people, characterized by its will to be closer to them. He also welcomed the Chancellor's actions both domestically and internationally which reflect her wisdom, intelligence, strength of character and perseverance.

In return, the German Federal President encouraged nations to cooperate each other so that they can freely develop their skills, grow sustainably and provide better security.
German Chancellor meanwhile, urged the co-responsibility in the field of development assistance, while noting that each country should take charge of its own destiny.

During the stay of the Foreign Minister Mr Pierrot Rajaonarivelo in Europe accompanied by his senior staff the week of May 7, 2012, the Minister held a working session with Embassy staff during his visit to Berlin the 11 and 12 May, 

he stressed on this occasion the importance of controlling all the articles stipulated in the roadmap by the Embassy staff. The Minister also recalled the role of the Embassy as a motto: "Diplomacy for Development". After the working session, a friendly lunch with employees of the Minister ensued. 

Celebration of the independence of Madagascar in Germany

Triple event for the celebration of the independence of Madagascar in Germany from June 25 to July 1, 2012.

This year, celebration of National Day of Madagascar took place in an atmosphere of optimism, solidarity and togetherness.The celebration under the sign of the "Economic and cultural Development of Madagascar" has brought an innovation because three events were organized during the week from June 25 to July 1, 2012.

On 26 of June, Independence Day of Madagascar is traduced by the celebration of National Day and the official opening of the first edition of "Madagaskar Markt" Havelpark, an important market center, with the participation of ten exhibitors from Madagascar in order to promote the advantages of the country in terms of handicrafts, tourism, mining, wellness and spices.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians and local authorities, and honored by the Representative of the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During her speech, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i Ms Léa Raholinirana pointed the importance of using Diplomacy as a tool for development. In that respect, the Malagasy and German partners in collaboration with the Embassy have worked together for the realization of this promotion week of Madagascar. In cultural terms, a private vernissage of photos retracing the history of Madagascar until its independence, and highlighting its various people and culture took place in a sumptuous castle Ribbeck Havelland on June 29, 2012, with the presence of high personalities. The Speech of the Chargé d'Affaires made in Malagasy, English and German addressed to the guests gave a touch of originality because they could discover the Malagasy Language. The performance of the artist Regis Gizavo, and German and Malagasy culinary dishes have enjoyed the evening. The photos will be exhibited in the castle until August 5, 2012 (Theodor Fontane-Str 10, 14641 Ribbeck).

Always in the framework of this promotion, Madagascar has participated in the crafts market held at the Düsseldorf from June 30 to July 01. The specificity of this market lies in the fact that the exhibitors are high quality, with creative and unique designs. Malagasy products were appreciated by visitors.

The celebration of the 52nd anniversary of the Independence of Madagascar has allowed the country to make known to the Germans, who obviously have expressed their interest in the craft of Madagascar, its natural resources, culture and history.
