International Tourism Fair in Berlin ITB from 4 to 8 March 2015
This year, the stand of the ONTM (Malagasy National Tourist Office) hosted during the ITB from 4 to 8 March 2015 in Berlin, the company Air Madagascar, Tulear Tourism Office in the framework of German-Madagascar environmental program and 8 operators tours.

Visit the wonderful world of calves
Each year from June to October, the Canal of Sainte-Marie on the east coast of Madagascar is the usual ground of humpback whales. In these protected waters full of krill (crustaceans whales feed ), conditions are ideal to mate and give birth to calves . Since August 2013 , a female “franche australe” whale was observed for the first time in two years with her baby.
„ITB“ International Tourism Fair in Berlin : from March 06th to 10th 2013
Once again from 6 to 10 March 2013, the International Tourism Fair ITB, platform for the global tourism industry took place in Berlin with a view to exchange information, conclude deals and cultivate business relations.
Fort he first time, the President of the Republic of Indonesia (partner country) and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany opened the world’s largest travel trade fair.
More than 100 ministers of tourism and State Secretaries, 350 politicians and diplomats from Germany and abroad met in Berlin to help shape the future for growth in the tourism industry.
Madagascar, as usual, participated to this International meeting through ONTM (National Malagasy Office of Tourism). There were about 8 malagasy exhibitors. The majority of them used to be present in order to keep the contact with their partners or to get a new one. This constant presence is benefit because it grows up the interests of tourists for Madagascar. For information, the Malagasy Ministry of Tourism reported in 2012, 255942 tourists (in 2011: 225055 tourists). And prevision in 2013 will be about 12-15% of increase.
During this International Fair, 10086 exhibitors from 188 countries presented their products and services. Overall, some 110000 trade visitors came to Berlin, of whom 43% were from abroad. More than 60000 public visitors came the last 2 days to find out information about general or specific offer from exhibitors. For the first time, public visitors were able to book their trip directly at ITB Berlin.
The next ITB Berlin will take place from Wednesday, 5 to Sunday, 9 March 2014.
