Madagascar was widely listened and visible thanks to the success of Minister Vonjy Andriamanga’s mission to Germany, as part of the Afrika-Verein (Federal Association of German Companies and Institutions for Foreign Trade with Africa) invitation to the German-African Business Day in Berlin on June 13rd.
In fact, the Minister of Energy, Water and Hydrocarbons actively attended this 6th forum focusing on the blue economy for Africa’s growth. As a panelist on the theme of private sector investment opportunities and the prospects of the industrial revolution in the blue economy in Africa, the Minister highlighted in his intervention the real need to protect our 5000km long coastal wealth, and to develop our considerable potential in an exclusive economic zone of more than one million km2.
The Malagasy blue economy concept promotes sustainable economic growth based on resources from the oceans, rivers and lakes, and other water-related resources. The approach is based on the combination of development and environmental protection.
In the margins of this forum, the Malagasy delegation held B2B meetings with companies and ministries.
