Madagascar, the 4th largest island, is world famous for its precious landscapes, its rich biodiversity, its warm and welcoming population, its craftsmanship, its fruits and exotic spices.
A true sanctuary of culture, adventure and nature, the red island offers a wide range of activities for tourists whether adventurers, nature lovers, sports, culture or simply luxury. Madagascar puts all the senses in alert, and represents a real feast for the eyes.
With so many natural assets, if Madagascar continues its path of development while improving its infrastructure, the tourism industry will experience a real boom. Tourism is a key element of Malagasy economic growth. Luxury Eco-Lodge is a niche sector, combining resource protection and economic development. The opening of the new hotel “Miavana” located on Ankao Island offers individual villas with luxuriously personalized service. The famous “Art of Travel” magazine has praised this little corner of paradise in its edition.
The works of extension and renovation of the principal airports of Madagascar including those of the Capital are in good way.
The open sky allows to offer a wide choice of airlines including Air Madagascar / Air Austral, Air France, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines. Note that as of April 2018, Ethiopian Airlines will serve Nosy Be from Addis Ababa at a rate of 3 times a week. Domestic flights will now be provided not only by Madagascar Airways, but also by the new Air Madagascar subsidiary “Tsara Dia”.
The number of German tourists is booming thanks to cruise tourism that reaches the north of the big island and carries on board each cruise more than 1000 tourists, 2 to 3 times a year.
